Choosing Holes Size
1.5" Regular Duty is great for an average horse
1.5" Heavy Duty is great for an easy keeper as it restricts the hole size and slows them down
1" Regular Duty is great for easy keepers
1" Heavy Duty is great for easy keepers
2" Regular Duty for extremely hard keepers. It does not slow the horses down but it does cut down on hay wastage as it contains the hay better than a feeder alone.
Choosing Regular Duty VS Heavy Duty
The regular duty net is the recommendation in most situations with the exception of very easy keepers (to restrict hole size) and horses that chew nets. The heavy duty nets are designed for more aggressive eaters.
Recommendations for Round Bale Nets
The round bale net must be placed in a feeder if any of the horses have shoes on as they can become caught in the hay and cause damage. It is recommended to place round bale nets in a feeder as it can be safer for the horses and also promote longevity of the net.
