Hay Net EcoNets Half Net
The half bale net generously holds 1/2 a small square bale (up to 80 lbs)
Choosing Hole Size
1.5" is great for an average horse starting out on using hay nets. This size is also good for show situations that you would like your horse to have easier access to hay
1" is great for horses that have become too efficient at using the 1.5" net or have metabolic concerns
1/2" is only recommended for horses that have become too efficient on the 1" or for miniature horses or ponies. Many horses will get too frustrated with the 1/2" size holes and not eat so contact us if you have any question about this hole size and if it will work for you horse.
Choosing Regular Duty VS Heavy Duty
In most situation the regular duty net will be a great long lasting net. The heavy duty net is made from twine that is double that of the regular duty. This makes the net more durable against the aggressive eater, the overly playful and should deter the net chewer. Nets are not guaranteed against net chewing.
Here at MATALI Equine these are our favourite nets for our twice a day portioning.
